The students are currently working on
public speaking skills. Many students
recently presented the results of the “Mock Election” to the North Schuylkill
School Board. Currently, we are planning to interview Superintendent Dr. Robert
Ackell. This involves studying interview
techniques and researching the superintendent position and a brief biography
from Dr. Ackell. The interview will be on
February 28th.
A field trip to the high school to
observe some higher level classes is currently being planned. The tentative date is March 1, 2017. I will be posting more information soon.
The elementary gifted support students
will be sending a team to the K’Nex challenge at Intermediate Unit 29 in
Pottsville on March 23. All the students
will be helping with the challenge with a team of 4 attending the
competition.
We are also planning a trip to the
Intermediate Unit’s new Maker Space.
This is a new area at the IU that offers resources to further explore
topics like Art & Music, Coding & Robotics, Electricity, Science, and
Mathematics & English Language Arts.
This space has just recently become available, and we will be visiting
in the near future.
