Our interview with Superintendent Dr.
Robert Ackell was held on Tuesday, February 28th. The students did a great job and enjoyed
getting to know a little bit more about our superintendent.
The high school field trip was a great
success. We were able to observe and
participate in Broadcast Journalism, AP Calculus, Sculpting, Computer-Aided
Design, and AP English. The students got
to experience much of what being a high school student will be like.
The elementary gifted support students
will be sending a team to the K’Nex challenge at Intermediate Unit 29 in
Pottsville on March 23. All the students
will be helping with the challenge with a team of 4 attending the competition. The challenge is to create a ride using K’Nex
for an environmentally friendly new amusement park.
The planning for our trip to the
Intermediate Unit’s new Maker Space is complete. Sixth grade students will go on Monday, March
20, and third, fourth, and fifth grade students will go on Tuesday, March
21. This is a new area at the IU that
offers resources to further explore topics like Art & Music, Coding &
Robotics, Electricity, Science, and Mathematics & English Language
Arts. We will be visiting later in March. More details will be given soon.
